The limbic system / Emotional brain
Deep inside the brain lies the emotional brain, the limbic system.
This system in the brain is responsible for feelings and survival reactions.
Feelings such as joy, fear, anger, anger, jealousy, greed, disgust, sadness and many more arise and are stored in the emotional brain. Fear, for example, is an emotion that can be helpful when an emergency occurs and can save our lives.
You need a balanced feeling in order to survive. But today our "negative" emotions, partly suppressed and not conscious, take over. There is more and more pressure and stress, which can manifest itself as illnesses of all kinds and on all levels.
The entire limbic brain consists of the cingulate cortex, the brain winding of the parahippocampus and the amygdala, which is at the bottom. By the way, all fear reactions emanate from the amygdala.
The limbic system can also be seen as a brain in the brain, because it has a different structure, a different cell arrangement and also its biochemical properties are different from those of the rest of the neocortex, the highly developed area of the brain, the cerebral cortex in which language and thinking are located.
The limbic system reacts independently of the neocortex.
So language and perception have a limited influence on the limbic system, because one cannot order a feeling to become stronger, to disappear or to react according to one's wishes.
Important in this context are the worldwide modern diseases such as burnout, stress, depression, anxiety (such as existential anxiety for example) and many more.
Because the limbic system (emotional brain) controls everything that concerns (regulates) psychological well-being, the majority of body physiology such as heart function, blood pressure, harmony, digestion and the immune system.
Even problems that affect the emotional life are consequences of dysfunctions of the limbic system.
Painful experiences from the past are stored indelibly in the emotional brain and thus it continues to react and control sensation and behaviour into the future.
This music has been designed to reprogram and transform those stored emotional states so that the emotional memory can adjust to the present and thus react freely and unencumbered to new, current situations and not to outdated and useless patterns.
Music has the advantage that thinking, reason and language (the neocortex) cannot counteract here.
Music is speechless, unobtrusive and neutral. It enables the emotional brain (limbic system) to mobilize its self-healing powers individually.
That it gets the originally innate ability to find harmony and well-being again. As soon as this happens, the physical body follows and can regenerate itself through self-healing forces.
To the cover picture:
Emotions are colourful. Therefore you can also use imaginary colours for meditation to purify and transform the limbic system.
The colours white, gold, violet, silver, green and blue are favourable for this.
Be playful and creative during your meditation (listening to the music). There are no fixed formulas or dogmas to apply. Listen to your own inner voice. Apply this as it happens spontaneously, the only important thing is that you feel comfortable with it and can balance emotionally harmoniously.
